Still disagree on that move being Elders final attack since it looked way to basic! That and yes although he was desperate and motivated to leave the fight againts Ganosuke, it should be noted that Elder was not 100 percent and just woke up from sleeping/eating. When you wake up you are usualy still not 100 percent or in the right frame of mind to perform high level tasks.

I reckon that comet move was Elders best basic move but not final attack.

I wonder if Michael has a final attack with his Scythe or if anything in particular. Did Kensei Ma and Sakaki ever show their best hands?

@Ogata Kensei used his ultimate undressing move on Mikumo.

True, Kensei did use his "ultimate" move on Mikumo. Seriously, how strong would Kensei be if he truly goes all out instead of just focusing on undressing? I guess we will never know until something truly vile happens that breaks through his inner peace (someone seriously wounding / killing Renka or Kenichi would probably do the trick).

Sasaki never showed his ultimate hand.

@Ogata, now that you explain it that way I think yours explanation make more sense. That comet attack is the Elder's "best normal move", but not quite his final yet. The Elder had never shown his final hand either.

Also agreed that Michael could be developed way better. I would have liked to see him as an ultimate planner type of villain, who ultimately is more dangerous than even the legendaries. Imagine something like Nijima but a scythe grandmaster and with zero of Nijima's tendency to become good.

(However you spell his first name) Jenazad

Age: Over 90 when he died

Birthday: October 23

Height: 165 cm [as "tall" as Kenichi]

Weight: 60 kg

Hobbies: experimenting with disciples, politics

Likes: all kinds of fruit, recently he especially liked kaki fruit

Dislikes: meat, fish, wheat

Dreams for the future: Throwing away the limits of being a human, fighting (a) god

  • his style makes use of the terrain and incorporates weapons
  • even for OSNF standards he's incredibly strong
  • knows some imperfect form of the longevity secret - only his face is young
  • the fight against Hayato ended in a draw, because Hayato's ship was leaving and they ran out of time
  • he has absolutely no mercy or compassion for his disciples (Miu eventually might be the only exception)
  • All lines said when he played "family" when Miu was brainwashed were written by him. Matsuena wonders whether he might have had the talent to become a playwright.
  • Hayato and Jenazad exchanged knowledge and techniques long ago (before Jenazad went insane).
  • After Silat the next best thing for him are fruits, especially kaki and loquat. When he visits Japan he always boys boxes of kaki fruit, since the are hard to come by in his country.
  • He carves all his mask himself and might be the one with the greatest sense for art in the OSNF after Gaidar.
  • He always eats the whole fruit including peel and seeds, he wants to ingest the whole perfect thing.

That's about it. There is no reason given in the guide why he went crazy.

Thanks for this! About the name, I personally prefer Jenazad, because it directly translates to "corpse" in Indonesian.

His motivation for becoming crazy is relatively clear though. He has a very forceful personality, and is hailed first as a hero, then as a being of godlike status. All the expectations people placed on him went to his head. Also it was never shown but I suspect that somewhere along the way he lost faith in peace as well. As we could see in the flashback, originally Jenazad is not a kill-frenzy fighter, but always allow the opponent a chance to surrender first. Also, would someone who is obviously a bloodthirsty tyrant be hailed as a hero and regarded with so much respect for so long even after he had changed? Some of his older underlings actually didn't believe that it was him behind the mask until he took the mask off.

=> god complex coupled with PTSD

This is such an amazing post that I wish I could like it more than once!!!

I 100 Million percent agree with you in regards to Michael!!! In another discussion forum, someone compared Michael to...Joker!!!

This makes perfect sense! They are both kill happy lunatics who seem very fund of carnage and chaos. They both have ZERO shame!

Example would be that Michael is bragging about the fact that he fooled Hongo by pretending to be dead and he was super happy that he avoided him when he reached the control room. While most disciples and masters would feel DEEPLY ashamed of themselves for even entertaining the idea.

This is the same behavior as Joker who really doesn't give a shit about losing a fist fight and infact the Dark Knight ending was similar to eternal arc in a sense that Joker had an ace in the hole to creating chaos while Michael WAS the ace in the hole and both of them got diverted by Batman/Shigure and oh both Joker and Michael are Legendary Masters when it comes to trolling.

BTW you don't happen to know how to spell his first name? I've seen Silkat/Silkwat/Silcardo and probably a few other spellings. Anyone here who speaks Indonesian?

What's there for Lona and Jihan? And Sham, too.

citizen_lion

I think Silkwat Jenazad was the spelling that an Indonesian poster in mangafox recommended. I remember that Silkwat means something too, but for the life of me I can't dig that post back up, but yea, the two words together are supposed to fit perfectly (like "masked corpse" or something like that) so it has to be the correct name.

Ya Lona is just too cute. Regal and cute.

I also wonder has Kōkin ever been bullied. He gives off that feeling with his calm nature that's similar to Akisame's. Judging by his appearance as a child, I can see other children making fun of his eyes. Going by his profile he likes to have fun because he enjoys rollercoaster rides (I wanted to see that in the manga so badly)

Interesting theory, and certainly possible, kids who were bullied do tend to have a tendency to become bullies themselves when they become strong. It's hard to suppress this tendency unless you have a very strong drive to be protective (certainly having someone to protect like Kenichi helps) or unless they have good role models. Kokin appeared to have been an orphan, since he not only respected Agaard but loves him like a son loves his father, so Agaard is his father figure... a father figure who teaches him to get strong and beat up people :D

Thank you very much. I'll trust the native speaker and use this spelling from now on.

Lona is the cutest.

I know you posted Mikes stats in the first page but I am wondering if Master Mike has any extra details like Jenazad,Ogata,Elder,Tidat Jihan?

Would like to know if there is any info about how/when he met Apachai? If they fought? What his master/family like? How/when he met Shigures father?

Sorry if I am spamming Michaels name but damn dude, he got more face time than any Hachiou master and was a unique villain within the realm of hsdk. He is by far my favorite Hachiou master despite not being the strongest.

108 stores... Interesting.

I find it sad that we only know three of the armed Yomi members' names. Four if you include Andaka.

He doesn't even have a whole page for himself, but has to share with Mildred and Raki. The few sentences in his profile say that he enjoys killing, and that his bullet proof suit and his weapon were made by Shigure's father. He wears that suit, because he thinks it's too bothersome to dodge bullets.

I wished they had waited a bit with publishing this guide. They could have included a few more characters and given more information on those who became more relevant in later chapters after the guide has been published. Alas...

I read on a website that Shun made a mistake and put "38 years old" instead of "28" for Ogata. So he's a youngster.

But then he would have been a master at about 18 - 10 years (or so) ago when he saved Tanimoto. He didn't look like a teenager to me in that flashback. I think 38 is more realistic. Do you have a link to that website?

Thats too bad! I am somewhat suprised he got so much air time even though it turned out weaker than he looked! Seeing how Ganosuke was the second to make his debut (Seitaro being first) you would think that the author was trying to introduce the strongest to weakest members of the Blades.

Another thing that makes me curios about Michael Schtilvay is who thought him "Scythe" skills. The reason is, all Hachiou masters have a martial arts weapon that is thaught in real life in various schools. But I have NEVER heard of a scythe school or have seen a scythe like his among any IRL warriors.

I read on a website that Shun made a mistake and put "38 years old" instead of "28" for Ogata. So he's a youngster.

This is confusing as well! In one hand, it makes sense for him to be 28 currently because he was just a disciple 10 years ago meaning that he was 18. So him being 38 now and a disciple at 28 doesn't make sense. Then again, its possible that Ogata got in to martial arts late in life and his desire to play catch up made him obbessed in order to make up the lost times.

Then again, like erdbeerk says, Ogata didn't look like a teenager in Tanimoto flashback...

Oh, there seem to be quite a few mistakes in this guide. Kenichi gained some weight. ^^

Thank you so much for this link, this is really interesting. So Ogata really is as young as Gaidar and 8 years ago he was 20. That would fit.

BTW, can anyone access Matsuena's BBS? Every time I try I get an error message. http://www.m-bros.ne...s/bbs/index.cgi
