What's the name of the city that everyone lives at?
Yami stole them and destroyed all evidence.
The citiy's name isn't mentioned anywhere I think. So far I haven't stumbled upon a name. If it's not Tokyo it's probably Matsuenatown or something.

This is all so cool and interesting. Is there anything in there you found to be unexpected from a certain character?
I think everything makes sense in some way, but I really laughed at the mental image of Gaidar following his housekeepers around with a mop.

@jojoestar Well, he is a charming person and I can imagine he enjoys spending some nice time with pretty ladies. And he uses ancient Muay Thai so maybe that sparked his interest in archaeology.
He is still alive and I hope it stays that way. But if there is a great fight it would be this one.

In memory of the Elder who has left us now (or not. We'll see tomorrow)
- his martial arts power is natural disaster class
- He can be rather mischievous (see Garyuu X)
- We he saved Kenichi from the sharks and walked on water he was the only master who could use that technique, but by now all of them can do that.
- He might have worked together with Mikumo Kushinada in the past, but charcter-wise they didn't hit off at all. Yet there are still hints at some kind of romance between the two.
- The plot of land where Ryozanpaku is built is rather large. Of couse the Elder could never afford to buy so much land, since he isn't rich. He took it away from some sinister figure during the postwar mess.
- He was already very advanced in age when he met his future wife and had a late marriage.
- His real age is unknown and when you ask him about it he'll tell you that the records of his fights date back to the Sengoku period [1467-1573]. And if you look at his tekou and gaiters you are almost inclined to believe him.
- He uses techniques from all kinds of martial arts. He got his "human shuriken" technique from the Kuremisago style. The mind wiping technique comes from Jenazard originally. But he also granted others to learn techniques from him.
- He is able to hear Miu's voice from quite a distance and is thus able to carry out conversations with her from far away. He will just yell his answers so Miu can her them.
- When Saiga still lived at Ryozanpaku his room was next to Akisame's.
I would love to hear the story on that! I wonder if this evil individual was also some type of psycopath martial artist like Michael except a way better fighter!
Thanks for the details man! I guess its safe to say that Furinji style is a form of mixed martial arts as oppose to some fictional martial arts with fictional moves.

So the book is saying that running on water is more than just a speed feat? Interesting. What's cool in Berserker's and Lugh's profile?
Posted September 11 2014 - 08:04 AM
Not really, it was more of a "Why haven't we thought of that before?" moment.
Lugh
Berserker

Lugh
- He has been born blind
- He's quite talkative
Berserker
- His own style is that he doesn't really have a style
- Ogata had to come up with a special training method for him that focuses on his physical abilities
- He fears nothing more than boredom and fights solely for the thrill
- The street where he chased Niijima is now known as "Naked Street". And it's famous with alien enthusiasts as escaping alien sighting spot.
- He is ALWAYS chewing gum, even in front of the OSNF.
- His favorite gum flavor is lemon squash. He is rather silent, but if he opens up to someone he might even share his gum with them.
- He doesn't hold any grudges and doesn't put people in categories like friend or enemy. All he cares for is an exciting fight.
- He always seems to have good luck/fortune.
Bad move chewing gum in front of the bosses!
He seems like such a cool guy! Doesn't hold grudges and does not give in to favortism! I like unbiased people, they are very pure and loyal!
Lol at sharing his gum!
All and all, his bio is consistent with the anime as is Ogatas!
Btw, Do Michael, Ganosuke,Hongo and Kushinada have any profiles as well?

So, that clears up any thought of him having any grudges toward Tanimoto. Does it list the people he shared gum with?
Lugh is rather...simple.
You already did one for Tanimoto and Sieg, right? How's about Takeda, Renka, Rachel and Ethan, please?

Some observations from me: everyone's height and weight is relatively consistent to my perception of the manga.. if we go by "real world logic" but I was expecting that most of HSDK's master to be MUCH heavier than their build suggests, to account for the extremely high muscle and bone density. If their toughness doesn't come from overly dense bones, then it probably comes from being able to tense muscles by hydrostatic pressure (blood pressure) to an abnormal amount. Well, it's true that "thin wall physics" can grant an object extraordinary toughness despite being made of flimsy material (for example a coke can), it's still a bit odd to me. But then again a big part of "ki" in HSDK is the manipulation of blood flow, so I wouldn't put it past them.
Note: the reason why I keep bringing up bone density is because research has found that roman gladiators and shaolin monks have one thing in common, their fist and long bones are very dense, up to 4 times denser than a normal untrained person's bone. Also I always thought that training for bone density is a lot more straight forward and less reliant on exotic techniques than say controlling your blood flow. (why my own bones are pretty damn dense too. I weight nearly 100 kg and is only 165cm tall (same as Ken), and looks only slightly more bulky than Kenichi at the end)
@Ogata: masters are often drawn larger than their real size in relation to their disciples for dramatic effect, but are drawn to scale in shots not related to disciples. For example when Ogata was fighting the bear, he doesn't look that tall or buff. He always wear a cloak of some sort, and old style, slightly baggy clothings, which make his body look bigger. But when he kicks straight up, we can see that his leg is quite slender. In fact Ogata has much the same build as Odin, just slight bigger.
Another example is Ma Kensei always being drawn a lot shorter than his real height for comedic effect, but he is actually as tall as Miu and just 1cm shorter than Shigure. Ma is still very short by any standard, because Miu and Shigure are average height (maybe the upper end of average, but still average) for Asian women.

I agree with you and as you eluded to, their large size comes from an over exaggerated version of the "muscle pump"
I am very suprised with Ogata and Berserker and Hongo infact I thought Berserker was as big as a pro wrestler but he seems no bigger than an mma welterweight fighter in the profile.
As far as Ogata goes, this picture supports what your saying:
In this picture, he doesn't look particulary jacked but rather, he looks like a tall man with a well-built physique. Ofcourse wearing a jacket can make a persons arms look thicker as well but in this pic you see Ogatas abs/chest being built but nothing freaky like some IRL bodybuilder whos muscles are popping out of place.

Running on water is much more than a speed feat actually. Funny enough there was a research paper on this topic, and it pegs the minimum speed required for the feat, given a 70kg human being, at just 110km/h, something even a regular master class can attain.
The hard part is to generate the minivorticles every time your feet touches the water, so that you have something to "step" on. This is from analyzing the motion of water bugs. tl;dr, it is a very much a skill feat as a speed feat, and just being able to pump your leg really fast won't let you run on water.
The feat of Kushinada *walking* on water (at a much lower speed than 110km/h) is far more impressive than the water run. Because it requires unimaginable skill.
