That makes me wonder how good Natsu would be if had a master who was better at teaching and didn't disappear most of the time. What if Ogata had decided to take him in a his disciple back then?

Thats like saying,"What would happen if the elder personally trained Kenichi into his daily routine"? Of course he would be a lot stronger :)

If Sougetsu only cared more...

I would really love to see some of the other disciples reach master class before Kenichi does and I want to know their stories.

@ It may, but it also left him open which is why he was impaled. And in comparison, Hongō successfully managed to trap legendary master Jenazad with that move.

Sogetsu does care... I'm sure. Hermit buys best wine for him.

I suppose Sogetsu taught him some form of ki, seeing as Hermit quickly deduced that the brute he fought against had been releasing his dou ki too much. So he knows something about ki releasing.

Yeah, @citizen_lion, Sieg needs to make a stop at Ryōzanpaku for a few pointers on ki. But they are fairly certain that he will become a master soon, so he's bound to find out. Maybe his next journey to Tibet will open up his mind about ki.

Another question I have is who takes care of Sieg and Hermit medically, as I believe that this is also an important factor in the road to mastery. I suspect hermit cares for his own injuries because "doctors can't be trusted", but I wonder if even goes for any extreme cases as well. Especially for Yigong-fu, as I remember from the original kenichi manga, Ma Kensei told Kenichi about a master who was able to pierce his enemies with his hands. Then as he got older, his joints locked up on him to where he couldn't eat without aid. Poor guy...

Sieg probably has some wealthy doctors under his belt. And some guru from Tibet, possibly. *silently rambles on how there is no way Sieg managed to alter his body like that on his own* How did he benefit from 40 days of spinning in place?

@Delirium Trigger Jenezad had an opening because he turned his back on Akira. Apachi can possibly counter his ultimate technique, leading to a tie, but it also possible he would just die as you stated. I feel like Agard, Ma or Akiisame would be a better match against Akira.

Agard is incredibly analytical, he's a Satsujinken martial artist and he's more likely to fight with his life on the line than Jenezad. Another thing is Agard taught Koukin to always attack during his opponent's decisive attacks. If Agard uses that strategy, as well as using a similar strategy as Jenezad, taking on the real Akira instead of the clones Agard can win. Agard could step in, use the punch he used to kill Apachi or use Yan Erawan at the same time that Akira uses his ultimate technique. If he's fast enough Agard can hit Akira before he, fatally wounds him. If not, than they both would probably die, depending on the attack Agard used.

@ It may, but it also left him open which is why he was impaled. And in comparison, Hongō successfully managed to trap legendary master Jenazad with that move.

To be fair, Apachai was impaled not because he was opened. He was impaled because he always, always to the very last, went for none-lethal hits. The last panel of Bolisud Look Mai showed that Apachai hit Agaard twice for every hits he took. It's just that Agaard caused a lot more damage because he hit vitals.

But yes, Agaard would be a much better match for Hongo because of his analytical nature. In fact the only time we ever saw Agaard losing was when he lost his cool (usually because of his brotherly love / rivalry for Apachai)

@Delirium Trigger 40 days of spinning in place would build your body up a lot, I think. The possible problem to that is spinning around may (I'm not sure) cause brain damage over time, but it certainly will improve your balance because you are more and more used to being off balanced until it became second nature. It probably conditions your inner ears up to superhuman levels too. And your internal organs will have to cope with operating while spinning like crazy, which condition them.

Imagine what ocean sickness or air sickness or car sickness feels like. Now imagine subjecting yourself to 5 times that amount of acceleration / decelleration non stop for 40 days. I'm tempted to try it out actually, not 40 days of course, but just spinning myself in place for a few minutes each day, starting slow and slowly increase speed to a reasonable level (to minimize the sudden change in acceleration that may affect the brain).

Also Sougetsu probably does care, and probably even more than he cares to admit, but I was referring to the fact that he is probably a bad communicator and teacher. Saying something like "you need to release your ki!" is completely meaningless to someone who doesn't even quite understand what ki might even mean. And it doesn't help that it seems to be a catch all term for a number of different things. Conscious control and coordination of your nerves to muscles that most human beings are not aware of seems to be one of those things. Intimidation and charisma is another. Sensing air fluctuation is yet another.

I have wondered about this for so long! I mean, Natsu was in Ragnarok since the point of Ragnarok was a filtering process for those who were serious enough to want to learn legit martial arts.

Ofcourse, Hermit was one of the best and he joined because he admired Ogata and wanted to train with him. I mean Freeya said that she joined Ragnarok to get an opportunity to train with the great sage fist.

Well it doesn't mean Saving fists don't use 'Killing moves', they just don't use them to kill :). Effective use of martial arts does not require killing, so does killing moves. Remember the double elbow at close range, on of Kenichi's first moves. If the person did not have a strong neck they would die with that move. It was a 'killing move'. Another interpretation of killing moves is a finisher, which then I can see why they would avoid ones too powerfull. However if it was effective then they would use it.

No wonder why Hibiki was close to...Hibiki in the Titan arc. That makes sense.

Tanimoto and Shirahama will kick his alien ass back to the planet he came from if that ever happens.

This begs for a short gaiden story: The disciples are in their last year of high school and Kenichi has just published his first novel. During the school festival Niijima promotes the hell out of his Shinpaku Alliance and tries to get everyone to either join or buy Kenichi's or one of the books he has written. "And new female members (and males who might be interested) will receive this special Tanimoto x Shirahama illustrated light novel. Follow me now!" Shirahama and Tanimoto find out about his scheme and hilarity ensues. (Of course Niijima has spread certain rumours about those two beforehand)

It does not mean that he started as fast as we saw him, or that he remains at that speed. He most likely built an unconscience spin, but needed to slow down to eat, drink, live, or excrete(ewwww~~~ the thought).

Kouryuu High School Girl Popularity Panking

Niijima evalutated the data he has collected for all over 400 female students at Kouryuu High and tells us how "our" girls are ranked.

#1 Miu Fuurinji

Even if she's being chased by Renka, her top postition is fixed. If you counted in the ones who have given up on her she would be even more popular.

#2 Renka Ma

The assault girl fom China. She was climbig up in popularity ever since she transferred here! Her positive and cheerful personality seems to be the biggest reason.

#3 Rachel Stanley

The blonde intruder from the West. She's an object of worship for those who long for the other world, but if you talk to her you might be surprised about how friendly she is.

#4 Chikage Kushinada

Her popularity with "big friends" crosses school borders. Students from other schools have spotted her and come here with their cameras.

#5 Kisara Nanjou

Actually, she secretly has many fans, but so far there hasn't been anyone strng enough to confess to her, as they are faced with Ukita's resentment.

#6 Kyouko Ono

The only teacher who made it into the ranking. Because of her airheaded way of speech and coduct she is ranked as #1 of girls one wants to protect.

#7 Chihiro Takashima

She was top rank until Mui transferred to our school. After that she suffered from a sharp drop, because she bullied Miu. She is in the process of rising again after mending their relationship.

#8 Makoto Himeno

Some boys are her passinonate fans, but she is unaware of the fact.

#9  Yuuka Izumi

The dark horse. Secretly she isn't only popolar with those who seek her out for friendship, but also as a candidate for marriage.

#Extra: Kaoru Shiratori

She is not included in the ranking. They thought she was a boy (*She is not a student at our school, but she was included in the Kouryuu High ranking for the sake of her hanging around here so much)
