^ That sounded right for all the wrong reasons.

Wish MangaStream would hurry up and release the chapter so I can read it. :x

I don't wanna read MangaPanda's. Maybe I'll just go look at the pictures..

I read mangapandas. Nothing seemed odd about it.

Nothing ever seems odd about their translations until someone like MangaBurn or MangaStream releases their versions.

Read the one on mangahere, and the translation seemed ok to me. I'll tell you now since you haven't read it, that nothing really happened in the chapter though.

That's disappointing.

Suppose I'll read it now then since there's no HSDK yet and if nothing happened, then it doesn't really matter about the translation. Will still probably read it on MangaStream when it comes out though. (For the pictures at the beginning of course. Duh.)

I was thinking the chapter was actually pretty cool, even though Fairy Tail wasn't doing anything, until Mavis decided to reveal the strategy. -_-

Also, Mermaid Heel should definitely be a recurring group after the games is over. :x

MangaStream version isn't much different.

The rules for the game are explained a bit differently but that's about it.

Noticed how much the princess looks like Lucy this read around, but that might just be coincidence.

Told you there wasn't much happening. Best part of the chapter was Mavis.

one thing i noticed in ft is the sudden power ups. it's like their powers are based on their emotions. like how natsu beats up sting and roque while he's at a disadvantage just recently.

That's called "Nakama power." It's used as a sort of plot shield to make sure that the good guys, FT in this case, don't lose when they obviously were supposed to.

Eh, the same thing happens in One Piece too.

one peace puts a bit details into it. i don't know but maybe the hiro mashima like putting fan service and building up the story more than putting more details into their abilities.

ok, maybe im pointing just natsu's battle with sting and rogue. mashima going for much effort to introduce sting and rogue's new dragon mode which kick's both natsu and gajeel's ass. and then natsu(gajeel thrown out of the field) get's a sudden power up http://mangafox.me/m...34/c296/18.html note: natsu and gajeel was going all out before this. and now sting is again shown hints to be stronger than natsu because he beats/killed with one punch their feared GUILD MASTER because of sudden burst of emotions http://mangafox.me/m...34/c300/17.html

Ok yeah I can see where you're coming from. I think when Mashima mentioned the whole "everyone is weaker because they haven't been around for 7 years" he ruined a lot of the dynamic for fairy tail. We have to remember that Ultear used the time arc to awaken and essentially double everyone's magic. I think most important in all of this though is the above mentioned nakama power. The only reason (IMO) that Natsu decimated the twin dragons was because he was doing it to get back at sabertooth for what they did to Lucy. It was completely revenge driven. And we have to remember that Natsu has taken on Hades, a God Slayer, Jellal, and Zero. He's not weak when he's fighting for his friends and Erza even says that he's stronger than her and we see that whenever he gets serious. When he's not serious he always loses (like when he takes on Laxus on the side - but remember he completely KO'd laxus when Gajeel took the hit for him from that Lightning halbred attack thing).

That goes into Sting's attack on the master of sabertooth. Remember that both Natsu and Sting are legitimate dragon slayers. Sting was getting revenge for Lector's death(?) so he went after the master. And we don't know what happened to him, but it looks like he won.

This is a shonen manga and emotions rule here. When a character is upset enough then they unlock newfound powers that let them overcome any obstacle and I guess that's why I love it so much. You get really pumped up and excited watching it. Like when Luffy defeated Lucci, when Luffy activated haoshoku haki at marineford, when Gajeel defeated the Grimoire Heart members, when Natsu beat Jellal, etc etc. The powerups are indeed random, but they're common in all shonen because that's how shonen work. They reveal their full potential in times of stress and duress.

Where isn't this present? History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi. :)

To some degree anyway. HSDK is definitely the most realistic of any shonen manga.

When did Erza say such a thing? Cause all I remember was her saying that he could be stronger than her in the future.
