For some reason, any of the good dragons coming back would mean the series is going to end, to me.

It doesn't necessarily have to mean that the series will be ending soon though. He did sort of make a appearance something like 50 chapters ago.

If you look at one piece at chapter 300 and fairy tail at chapter 300, I'd say you could say so.
They're a bit different though. One Piece gradually got great. Fairy Tail hit it right out of the gate.

I think it's as great as OP. Just like OP it has lots of characters and goes into great depth on all of them. Too bad we can't say that for HSDK.

HSDK, FT, and OP are just different types of manga, and I'll leave it at that. Though, from what I heard FT and OP have been said to be so similar that at one point, people started calling Mashima "Oda clone."
