We got other manga with more ecchi parts that HSDK translated into my language (ToLove-ru, Satoshi Urushihara's stuff, Yasuragi-sou no Yuna-san) and as far as I know they are doing well. But I don't think we have any Martial Arts manga and Sunday series in general besides Detective Conan and Magi. Either the publishers think that nobody wants Sunday stuff or Shogakukan is difficult to make deals with.

Those tweets are just one of Matsuena's followers tweeting the news that Mr. Matsuena is going to write a new story.

Ah. Maybe he didn't push it far enough.

What if it ties both TK!! and HSDK together? Barring the issue of balancing MCs, having that supernatural aspect could bring more traction. Or not.

Could be issues with dealing. I'm starting to question how Funimation got to dub K:TMD.

I'm not sure if he will include anything Tokiwa besides the occasional cameo, since it wasn't really well received. Adding the Elder to Tokiwa Kitareri didn't save it from being axed.

Most people probably know already, but I'll mention it here anyway. You can read Tokiwa for free on Sunday Webry. The wiki has an explanation how it works.

My guess regarding the anime dub is that the animation studio was easier to make deals with and/or the anime was cheap.
It's a bit sad that the French translation of Kenichi didn't sell that well and they had to switch to double issues. The bad sales in France might scare other European publishers away from licensing it. I wonder how well it's doing in Italy.

Delirium Trigger

Was it axed? I never assumed it would be a long runner, but it seemed like it.

Nacchi

From what I've heard from others and going by my personal impression, yes it was axed.

The sales numbers weren't exactly good but not that bad either, but they were nowhere near Kenichi's sales. The ending was really rushed. One day they were still fighting their average battles and the next one they're off to fight the final boss.

Oh. Okay then. Sucks that no scanlators ever translated the manga.

Nacchi

Maybe one day.

In other news Mr. Matsuena has drawn another promo image for his disciple's Tensou Kidou Alvadring manga.

This time it's Miu(!!) holding two mechas from this story.

http://www.m-bros.ne...box/000457.html

I wonder if this was originally done in color and only uploaded in b/w on his blog whili the color version is only available on mangaone. But then he has always uploaded color illustrations as they are.

Nacchi

Tensô Kidô Alvadring chapter 18 is out: part 1, part 2 (available until 2017-12-18)
Yawaspi even included that promo illustration with Miu in this chapter.

Volume 3 has been anounced for January 12, 2018, and Mr. Matsuena is actually listed as co-author this time. The description's first sentence actually reads "Shun Matsuena suddenly jumps into the battle!".

And and the end they say "Starting for this volume the author of History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, Shun Matsuena, genuinely joins the fight. The master disciple tag team delivers a soulful mecha action story."

This volume is about 20 pages longer than the previous ones. I assume they are going to include all that bonus art Mr. Matsuena drew.

Now I've got a few questions about the new serialization announced in Shônen Sunday.
Is he going to draw for two series at once? It would not be the first time he does something like that, but still.
Is Tensô Kidô going to end soon so he has time to focus on this new manga? They could theoretically end it after the current battle.

Or is that new manga actually TKA and they are moving it from Yawaspi to Weekly Shônen Sunday?

Delirium Trigger

I hope he's just being another author instead of actually drawing. I also hope that him working on TKA isn't the "New Manga". But whatever gets him paid.

Nacchi

I think he's only providing the bonus art he posted on his blog and his disciple still draws the main story by himself. The previous two volumes had a few extra illustrations by Mr. Matsuena, as well. Two simple illustrations a month, which are b/w for most of the part should be doable.

Like you, I really hope that TKA is not the new manga. I want Kenichi Returns or more Adventures of Technique Traveller Tekuni. The newest issue of Shonen Sunday is out today, but they didn't give us any updates. Matsuena's twitter staff didn't drop any hints either. I think we will have to wait until January for news. They should announce something by the time TKA vol. 3 goes on sale. Please.

Nacchi

More promo art

http://www.m-bros.ne...box/000458.html

This time Shigure gets to play with the mechas.

Sunday issue 3.4/2018 is out and they still didn't give us any new info about Mr. Matsuena's new work. We have to wait until December 27 for the next one (which probably won't have any info either). But Marry Grave, the new manga by Hidenori Yamaji is really, really good. Please read it if it gets translated.

On his Twitter I noticed him liking a bunch of HSDK fanart. Or the team behind it. But still.

Nacchi

Posted December 26 2017 - 10:30 AM

I think liking and retweeting might be automated and triggered by certain keywords. His staff is sometimes awake at ungodly hours, but quite a few of their likes/rts happen at times when, by all means, they should be asleep.

Sunday 5-6/2018 is out and we still didn't get any news about his new work.

Tensou Kidou 19-1 is out, 19-2 is going to follow next Monday.

It seems like Mr. Matsuena drew another bonus illustration, but it's still locked behind that annoying MangaOne app. I hope he uploads it to his blog eventually.

I wish everyone a happy belated Christmas.

This isn't Shun's other works, but still.
Kenichi's and Sakaki's voice actors voice characters in the game Granblue Fantasy. Both have special Christmas lines.
Here are "Kenichi" and "Sakaki" wishing you a Merry Christmas.

New Year's greeting from Shu Matsuda
http://yawaspi.com/t...ic/038_001.html

When you log into the MangaOne app, there isn't only this illustration of the princess by Matsuda, but also one by Matsuena of Commander Aruma who encounters a tentacle monster strange alien life form. It is followed by a notice saying that reader can vote for any one character in the comments and Mr. Matsuena is going to draw the one that gets the most likes.

Most popular comments so far:

  • Ryôzanpaku masters (50+ votes)
  • Shigure (~30 votes)
  • Kenichi & Miu as a married couple (~15 votes)

I hope more people vote for adult Kenichi & Miu. I want to see them all grown up.

Still no news about the new manga. Maybe after Tensou Kidou volume 3 goes on sale. Please.

TKA
19-1 http://yawaspi.com/t...ic/037_001.html

and
19-2 http://yawaspi.com/t...ic/039_001.html

are out

The website says that it's going to update on the 12th. They might remove chapter 19 that day, so go and read it before midnight JST.

Likewise Sunday Webry currently has chapters 1-18 available until 1/12. I think they are going to add chapter 19 tomorrow,

Whatever happened to the drawing?

syun released miu's drawing with 3 different color.. he still use miu in his latest work..is he want to bring hsdk back?

Whatever happened to the drawing?

It's been only two weeks since they opened requests. I assume Mr. Matsuena waited until people had enough time to vote. Then I suppose he is still working on his new serialization whatever it may be. Alvadring's next update is on January 22. Maybe the drawing will be finished by then, maybe it'll take him a bit longer. The top three popular comment haven't changed. It's still all masters > Shigure > married Kenichi & Miu. I wonder which one he is going to draw.

He once says that maybe one day he wants to draw HSDK again, but we don't know when that day will come. Miu and Shigure are still very popular, so it makes sense that he uses them to promote his disciple's manga.

Tensô Kidô ALvadring Volume 3 is out:
store bonus illustrations, volume 3 pr

  • Cover character: Captain Aruma
  • a pixilated preview of the cover backside illustration (I think I can see Mai Kisaragi. Or is that Shigure?)
  • lotsa bonus illustrations that were previously published on MangaOne
  • Overview of Lieutenant Maxim's mecha Titanis
  • Lottery: 14 illustrations drawn by Mr. Matsuena himself. More info about the lottery can be found on volume 3's obi

I wished I could join that lottery, but I'm sure they won't ship any prizes abroad. Oh well, I wouldn't win anyway.

This time the digital version is not released on the same day as the print version. Volumes 1 & 2 had a same day release.

What are some good sites to order ebooks of HSDK and TK!!? I still need vol. 1-24+61. Especially those which I could use as scans.

And how do I get the non-sample versions of the bonus images he draws for his manga?
