The way he's wincing in his sleep when he dreams of Honoka's "special menu", I'd say it's a nightmare.
Matsuena probably thought the gun would look good with her camouflage outfit and body painting.

Im starting to look back at these as lost works of art. After looking at the raw Kanata scans, I just want Matsuena to reboot hsdk further down the time line, or at least something like what Rosario + vampire II did with chap 67.

@Combatmaster1o3 His style changed quite a lot over the years. I think his drawings became cleaner and his anatomy improved. Long gone are the times where everyone had a broken neck or there were panels with yaoi manga proportions.
On the other hand the female characters breasts grew to a point where I'm wondering how in the world they are still able to move properly.
