@ You need to look between the hours of 8:00 and 9:00 P.M. That's when Mega Stones start appearing.
And did you know you can finally search for the Pokémon you're looking for on the GTS without needing to encounter it in-game? I love that new feature.

It's in the Santalune Forest and I'm pretty sure it appears during those hours. I think Aerodactylite is available all the time, though. Check with one of the workers at the Fossil Lab.

The only thing I can think of is that you aren't going there at the right time. Any earlier than 8:00 and any later than 9:00, the stone won't show up. You can check if it's the right time by looking at the stone at Anistar. If it's shining, then you can go hunt.
Have you gotten any other stones like Aggronite or Banettite?

Nice. The only shiny I've ever caught was a Shiny Magikarp. Not even that special considering HGSS. I have a few shinies on diamond though. Most notably is Articuno.
Anyway, got my hands on Heracronite. I was almost dreading having the issue echo is.

Ooh, a shiny Legendary! That's pretty cool.
I have a Shiny Fearow in SoulSilver. That's only shiny I have in that game aside from the Red Gyarados. I'd love to have a shiny Metagross, though. That has one of the coolest shiny forms.
I caught a shiny Ursaring several days ago in Y. I got the Horsea by chain fishing, have you ever tried it?

I know at one time I had a lot whenever Francis GTS was a thing but I ended up trading them away. Ahhh memories.
