If you could become one person's disciple, it would be.......

Shigure, obviously. She's like an ideal woman (no Miu is NOT an ideal woman), extremely strong and confident, yet kind and unassuming (I was about to say "humble", but that word often carries a submissive connotation, and Shigure isn't actually submissive, she's just not arrogant). The "get strong enough to protect Shigure" is a completely absurd concept. The only way to think of Shigure is "get strong enough so that she and you can protect each other". How can any man with some oxygen in his blood not train excessively with such a motivation?!
But of course, if not Shigure, then Ma Kensei or Akisame. Both of these masters were NOT built for martial arts in terms of starting physical attributes (one very skinny and one very short), but they have both figured out how to strengthen themselves to the point of being s-class masters. So either of them would know how to turn an average joe into his best potential...

I know we don't know much about him, but seeing as his disciple turned out, I think Serhul Rahman could be a good master to have. Kallarippayattu looked awesome he just looks like an awesome mentor. He was crazy jenazads only buddy too which gotta count for something.
Everyone seems to forget how Shigure treats Kensei for staring at his boobs too much... he can dodge the shurikens but could you...?

Kushinada Mikumo, for obvious reasons. She definitely has "incentives" for me to never miss a day of training(in various "areas). In addition, the secrets of extremely extended life and youth, along with all the sweets I can eat without penalty, what's there not to like?
As for Ryozanpaku, I'd have to go with Ma Kensei. He seriously has a ridiculous amount of martial prowess and I find his "hobbies" admirable.

Oh, Akisame is pretty ripped AFTER his lifelong training, not at the start. Akisame himself stated at the beginning of the manga that he was a scrawny, bullied kid, he just invented unorthodox training methods and trained himself for his whole life to create the perfect body that he has now.

My number 1 choice is Ogata because:
Like Akisame he uses science to train his disciple as well as...mixed culture!
What I mean by that is, he has studied various excercises as well as various martial arts to strengthen the bodies of his disciples! For example, a boxer can benefit from learning judo which gives the boxer a very strong grip and tons of muscular endurance that will allow him to not get worn out in the clinch againts a swarmer/brawlers. Or a boxer well-versed in kyokushin karate will be able to handle body shots better than his opponents who ONLY train boxing.
Or a grappler can benefit from ancient martial art excercises (kungfu/kalaripyattu) that aim to improve balance and flexibility which will improve their grappling skills!
