Wow Mycroft's first appearance in this version and Eclair's back. That was a surprise!

@Kaio-ken Actually, Mycroft got one panel in HSDK way back in the Eclair Arc. I was surprised to see him return, though. I assumed he was dead.

Nice! every player is reentering the game. My semi-prediction about how Ryozanpaku normally holds back A LOT is working out, as here we see Shigure dominating an elite master of the weapon team. Very intelligent and calm handling of the situation by Ken (though he got emotional and reckless at the end because of Miu).
And finally Saiga shows his human side. I especially like the fact that he seemed to care more when Akisame mention "the man who wears your old tekou, who is protecting your daughter" than when only his daughter is mentioned.
Special praise for Ken this chapter. I actually missed the subtle point that Ken was worried for Shigure first! Even if he loved Miu more, he considered the situation and placed the person in more danger first. No wonder Shigure slowly fell for him.
Crazy shipper mode! Damn I want Ken to be with Shigure! Miu fits Takeda (and before that Shou) to a T, and I like Takeda too. I don't want him to be unfulfilled. Takeda is the type who will never show that he is heartbroken, which is probably another reason why he deserves happiness in the end.

Very true, I suppose I mean non-flashback appearance. Here's the panel of him http://www.mangaread...hapter-148.html (and him being buried in Kenichi's imagination on the next page).
I hope his fighting style is different to the "hakkei" style of his Tatakae! appearance, also I wonder if he'll still have a disciple.

Having trouble with MangaPanda's translation (as usual). Someone please explain on page 5 when Akisame says "that doesn't sound like the words of someone who sent Tidat". I'm assuming it has something to do with the Tidat arc, but I just can't make sense of this translation.
Also can someone explain the cover page too? I don't get it either. Maybe I'm just dumb today, I have the flu and my mind isn't working correctly lol.
Can't wait for next weeks chapter. Can't think of a good reason for why those 2 would appear and help out....

I actually have no idea what Akisame's talking about. It probably has something to do with Tidat.
As for the cover page, I think that's showing the maximum height allowed (3.8 meters) for vehicles to pass through. I'm not sure.

he probably meant "someone who went to Tidat in secret to watch over his daughter".

Before I paid attention to his braids, I thought that was Siegfried. I had sleepy eyes, okay?

Wow! That was such a surprise. I wonder if this is why they did that arc for the OVA?

You definitely can be forgiven for that mistake
That style of crazy entrance is definitely Sieg-like.
Come to think of it, a lot of the masters parallels the disciples in subtle ways (appearance, personality, demeanor).

I really enjoy these twists from the author. He keeps things unexpected, but still makes cool and exciting stuff happen. 0nce in a while, tragic stuff.
I think Mycroft looks really badass in that last panel.
I wondered why they are there though. And I have only one logical explanation: they were sent there (by Saiga probably) to Kidnap Miu and/or remove her from danger.
The Haichou Executioner blade probably won't allow this because of his beliefs though, so Christopher and/or Mycroft might actually fight the executioner blade. Anyhow, those are mere predictions but based on the events and the characters, it does make sense.

WHO IS HE

Christopher and Sakaki's old partner. The last we heard of him, he was buried along with Christopher in the desert by Sakaki. Of course, Christopher got out, but we never learned Mycroft's fate.
Until now.

I looked at the panels again today. An important point I missed: Mycroft is getting Kenichi out of the way, so clearly he's being protected in some way. Why would the darkness want to protect Kenichi?

I think Saiga doesn't want Kenichi getting hurt for some reason. He does have some respect for him. Or maybe Mycroft is just a nice guy.

Yeah, like Sieg and Alexander with their love for music.

Mangastream has their translation out now. If you re-read the chapter again, you'll understand the small details better IMO.
