No. Do it like Joe does it. :|
Ok, so this was a good chapter. Not much fighting going on but a good explanation for sure. What happened at the end was definitely intense. I'm betting that Kensei killed Mayu.

I agree. what sucks is that the elder said that tanaka's wife conceived a child. which could mean that not only could kensei have killed his wife but his unborn child too... thats some dark sh*t...

Exactly. I'm pretty pissed at Kensei now.
Yeah. So do I, but I don't think he will really kill him. Maybe he just defeats Kensei and stops (or is stopped by someone) at the last second before dealing the killing blow.

I liked this chapter.
I remember someone guessing that Tanaka wasn't really talking to anyone on the phone. I forgot what forum, though.
I really liked the kick Ogata performed in this chapter.
If Ogata killed Tanaka's wife, then she was either fighting him, leapt in to protect someone from Ogata, or she took part in one of his experiments like her father.
There's also the possibility that Tanaka is responsible for her death. He always goes on about how Ogata killed his master, but he never talks about how Ogata killed his wife. He put on this entire show like she's still alive. He got pissed off when Ogata kicked the phone towards Kenichi, exposing him. All this talk about Tanaka's past makes me wonder. I doubt it will happen, although if it is the case, I'd really like to know what happened.
I also noticed something interesting about Ogata and his disciples:
Dat kick.

AGREED!!! and sweet observartion!
In my opinion it might be that this is his only way for tanaka to keep sane. to have these fake phone calls with his wife because throughout the manga he seems really into the phone calls. i dont think he can fake those.
Total speculation with no evidence: Im thinking that maybe kensei killed his master, tanaka got agry and attacked kensei but was way too weak, and tanaka's wife gets killed by trying to save tanaka's ass. This is why tanaka is heading down a dark path in search of power. Like i said though this is all speculation!
I am actuially very intersested to see how this fight will conclude. Will someone die? kensei? tanaka? will someone stop the killing blow? kenichi(in my opinion unlikely unless he gets severly hurt in doing so)? a master? wheres rimi's body? is ryuto considered a freind or foe? is miu just going to stay in that position? does beserker even understand whats going on? lol i cant wait for the next chapter.

I was just thinking that it'd be pretty intense if tanaka was killed here. Imagine how much hate would be transferred on to kenichi...could make the series go down a really dark path.
Also man...are we sure that the baby was never born? If so then all those phone calls...sounds like a serious mental condition. I wonder if he even has a job.

Yeah, there's no way of telling what happened. That's why I'm excited for the next chapter.
If someone stops the killing blow, it will be a master. Either someone from Ryozanpaku or someone from One Shadow Nine Fists (Mikumo).
Ryuto's definitely a friend. He's been cool with Kenichi ever since he lost at the end of the Final Clash Arc. Everything he's done so far has been to benefit Kenichi and he shows no ill feelings towards him. He even began to act nice towards Rimi.
I noticed Miu's position, too.
Welcome to the forums!

I may be over-thinking things, but does anyone else think Midou's daughter looks suspiciously familiar?
... I keep comparing her picture to Chikage's. >_>

What? Chikage? No way. She looks more like Renka.

She reminded me of Yinlin from Uncle Ma's restaurant. You know, that one girl Kenichi and Miu fought in the D of D tournament.

Nice development! Although indeed very sad.
I think Tanaka was the one who is partially responsible for his own wife's death. What could have happened is that Kai Midou challenged Kensei to a one on one match to go out with a bang, Suzuki-style. Tanaka chanced into the scene and thought that Kensei killed Kai Midou while he was weak, but it was not so straightforward.
Tanaka then attacked Kensei with enough killing intent that Kensei decided to respond in kind, the girl realized that Tanaka will die, jumped in, got killed by accident.
Tanaka blamed Kensei but he knows deeply that he shared the guilt too, which is why he gone completely crazy, and began to live in a fantasy. He was never a salary man; he planned to be one. He never had a wife; he planned to have one...
That's the only way to explain how he could reach masterdom so quickly. He trains every second in a day.
This would also explains why Kensei wants to raise a disciple to kill him one day, and his split personality. Kensei was shown the first time as carving buddha statues to atone for a murder by his hand, and the only murder that Kensei would really consider his guilt, and not "normal battlefield casualties", would be Kai's daughter's death.

The best guess I can come up with is that Tanaka's wife challenged Ogata to a duel sometime after he killed her father. She lost, leaving Tanaka to raise their child alone.
But, this still leaves me wondering just what Akisame found at that old dojo....Maybe her grave-site?

Wow! You can really feel the Tanaka's emotion. Just so much raw emotion is under his character. The parallels to Kenichi's own character are interesting as well.

Beautiful chapter, just beautiful.
Tanaka parallels Kenichi a lot.
His sensei's daughter made me think of Miu in aspect but she looks a lot like Renka.
I had to laugh at Sakaki stating how familiar both situations seemed.
I feel so bad for Tanaka, Ogata shattered his whole world, his master dies by him which might have happened if Ogata killed his Mayu.
The shock might have killed his master, then again who knows but that ending was sad.
Can't wait for next week's chapter.

This chapter really had me on the edge of my seat, brilliant compilation of action and information.
But for some reason i'm entertaining the possibility of Tanaka joining Yami or just being provoked by Ogata to the point of no return.
Because honestly everyone from Ryuzanpaku seems to be accounted for.
Also i think it would make for a nice contrast to the parallel that Kenichi and Tanaka seem have going on, a sort of alternate ending for Kenichi's life giving him another goal to work towards.

Chapter was good, and the bit at the end with him talking to no one was a nice twist. Still feel like the whole chapter could have been done in less pages though.
@Rimi
I'm too good to conform to any standards.

Something makes me think that Mayu was killed, but her and Tanaka's child somehow wasn't. I hope this is the case or else I would like to see Tanaka permanently cripple Ogata.

Well, with Rimi apparently dead, I wouldn't be surprised if the series kept getting darker.
