I saw nothing surprising here except for Hongo saying that he didn't want to see anymore disciples die. Sakaki was shocked so maybe this shows that Hongo is going to change? Speculation speculation speculation..

Yeah, my focus is more on Kenichi and Miu so I'm not really concerned with the masters.

Well you're in luck then because it said at the end of the chapter that they're going back to the kenichi vs. miu fight.
