I gotta say, his DofD appearance impressed me and made me laugh so hard that I kinda started to like him. Before that he just seemed almost like comic relief.

Anyone else disliking the fact that his fight vs hermit was skippied so hard? I mean we saw more of Kisara and Ukita being thrown around and Odin "vs" Freya.

That fight between Hermit and Siegfried is retconned for being off-panel.

Apparently the fighting style he uses is a real fighting style even though I think the manga credits it as being his own personal fighting style.

There is a Karate style based on Go no Sen. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=7XPcIVRh2So Here's a video.

hmm, from the videos of Go no sen karate, I think the philosophy is the same, but the art is very different.

Sieg's style is a primarily striking art, and most of the force of his strikes are actually his own. He spins into opponent's attack by reading body motion, but this is not for borrowing the opponent's power to throw, but rather to create an optical illusion of being hit while initiating his counter attack.

I wonder if there truly is such a martial art in the real world, because the concept seems interesting (and indeed almost sound, if you are good enough at reading movement, which is something that could be trained for).

One has to very devoted to that style, and very, very, very calm for the amount of failures it would take. On another note, I wonder if Sieg may have learned anything else from his stay in Tibet.

I decided to reread HSDK for more info about Siegfried, and I realized how offensive he became throughout the manga. I really wished that Syun actually worked on the fight between him and Hermit.

I think that video is a Judo kata. Specifically this one http://www.judopedia...-no-sen-no-kata

Oh, thanks for the correction.

Siegfried in a sense is the perfect soldier, he follows orders without fail. Has large sums of money to help out in any given situation, take multiple hits and use the oppenents move against them (seems like) and lightens a mood.

Honestly Siegfried doesnt give enough credit then he should, if it wasnt for him the Shimpaku Alliance woul probably be in a box or still at the school nothing more, and dont forget being one of the top 5 fighters within the group and overall one of the favorites

Don't forget about his groupies. Well, the Jap dub said that he has some.

In my opinion one of the reasons you don't see real world martial arts focus just on spinning counters (or spinning attacks at all) is because the distance they have to travel makes them easy to see coming so if you did them all the time your opponent would never get caught by them (plus you'd constantly be showing your back which is also dangerous) but that's not to say they are not useful, spinning back fists and spinning kicks are in most martial arts but they need to be mixed in with other moves.

Siegfried's style seems to be based on a bizarre mix of capoeira, piguazhang, zuiquan, pro-wrestling (requiem bomb!) and insanity! Which is why we love him.

The insanity part is for attacks like screaming VERY loudly into the opponent's ears. I would love to see this being done when Sieg had unlocked his ki :D

I would actually like to see him have some moves for those who already know of his countering-style.

On another note, don't you all think that Siegfried took his lost against Hermit a bit too calmly? It would've been nice in a way to see Siegfried have a similar breakdown as Kenichi did when he lost against Odin.

I picture an ultrasonic cannon.

I wonder how he would fair against a capoeira fighter of his current skill level. The Immortal Composer vs a fighter who fights through dancing.

More likely Siegfried's side because of his inner eye, counters, and very unusual abilities at his side.

Don't know if you'd be interested but I found this http://www.karatesan...aetentsuki.html don't really know much about the karate style but apparently its very fond of spinning attacks.

Am so happy right now. So happy. I'll find it. And learn baji-pigua style.

Good luck at finding them particularly Baji and Pigua, I think one of the biggest factors in what martial arts people get to learn is what is near them unless your willing to travel a lot.

I found that there is one nearby my location. The Baji-Pigua

Oh that's good, well if you go you'll have to let us know what you think of it.
