This is a challenge to any that are willing to take it up. You can choose to do any challenge you want and as many as you want. Tell me what you guys think. What is an interesting challenge to you, that I may not of put in the opening post?  I may update this thread in the future depending on what you guys say. Or if you want  you can post your own challenges.

Challenge #1:

Create a fight fanfic. You can choose any disciples, experts and/or masters and have them fight. Or you could make it a large group battle with a large number of people. It can be long or short. This is all about the fight(s). You can create a back story for the fight if you want.

Challenge #2:

Create a short story with a theme. The theme is of your chose and so are the characters it's about.

Challenge #3:

Create a alternate universe (AU) fanfic. What would the HSDK universe be like if the characters took a different road or if fate turned out differently? Your goal is to find that out.

Challenge #4:

Create a crossover. Take the HSDK universe and smash it together with another universe (it can be manga, anime, manwha, video game, etc.).  HSDK x Street fighter is an example.

Challenge #5:

Create a Gaiden or in other words a side story. It can be about any character.

I'm writing a fic about that off-screen fight between Hayato and Jenazad, and also use it to tie up some plot holes in the story. Posting the first part now!

I feel like I shouldn't post in your fanfic thread until your done with it, so whoever reads it can read it all together without having to search your thread, so i'll post in this thread. I enjoyed the first chapter of your fanfic. I really liked your back story. I can't wait for chapter 2.

Thanks! I'm trying to tie up plot holes in the story as I write this too. I think that fanmedia can fill the gaps in the story that Matsuena couldn't fill in due to the premature ending, and if we have everything together logically, it will make the entire lore that much more enjoyable as a result.

Arg, it's been nearly a month since I posted anything 0.0 Family stress is the worse kind of stress, because you care too much not to get stressed, even for Ma Kensei... I'll finish up the second half of the Jenazad fight soon. Meanwhile, I hope everyone enjoys Matsuena's new gaiden, "Advent Finisher" or something ;).

Do not forget the Michael/Apachai story as well!

I am still waiting on you to continue their story!

Hello, Citizen_lion are you still there? :)

I'm still here :D Life has been really hectic the last few months so I could never feel calm and relaxed enough to do anything creative. But I'm still here, still the same old man, haha.

Since about last week I felt that I need a new goal to work toward so that I can be distracted from all the mundane stress of life, so I figure I need to fix my weak endurance. I have trained all my life to focus on burst speed and body density. I can hit really hard, and take impacts from high falls without even slowing down, but my heart will start going crazy after running for just 300m. So I start walking up and down the stairwell of a tall building near where I work, haha. I'll update once in a while on my progress. The weak heart thing is partly genetics, but as with all things, enough training will compensate for it.

I'll get back to writing fanfics once the stress level goes down :D

Good to hear from you! I have seen a youtube video of you doing the hand speed test called "Kensei Ma test"

Your speed and reflexes are more than solid!

From the video I assume you are a wing chun practioner and possibly a boxer? I have done lots of martial arts but boxing is my true passion.

Hopefully your stress gets better, I too also have been dealing with lots of anxiety  and panic attacks as of last year but it is getting better. Although I am badly missing HSDK since this past two years I work and train in the back yard from may-august and a ritual I have is. After training I would watch One Piece and read HSDK. But the latter has come to an end :(

Funny thing is, I have a scythe among other tools for landscaping (super small house but GIANT yard) and the scythe seems to scare lots of wild animals (as does the farm forks.) although I use it to cut grass and any unwanted roots. Great workout and it builds wrist flexibility and body control.

Because of that, it would have been cool to see the yami armed unit in training to see that weapons help build bodies up since wielding a weapon is a form of weight training specially in Marmadukes case.

Anyway, feel better and I cant wait for your Michael/Apachai storyline and am interested in your Jenazad fanfiction as well.

@Ogata Arg, same here. Waiting for HSDK every week was my routine for years. I really miss this manga. Lately Toriko has been filling the void for me a bit. It's crazy and weird, and mostly fantasy instead of semi-realistic combat, but it's fun in a way that relaxes you.

I have never trained in any martial arts formally, actually. The whole interest in body building and self-defense came from the "fight the bullies" episode when I was in primary school. Then over the years I just trained alone although I never had to fight anymore. I am quite knowledgeable in biology, so I came up with methods of self training that I can do without taking time away from work (I have been working a lot of part time jobs since grade 11 since my family was quite poor back then). Because I was a bullied kid, I understand the psychology in HSDK very well, and impressed at how accurate Matsuena-san described it.

For example the first time I tried to jump across a 2m gap between two walls (which were not even that high up), I was so frightened. I knew that by all logic, I should be able to do this, yet I couldn't make myself jump. My legs turned into jelly whenever I stood on the precipice. It took a lot of self-convincing to finally do it, and yes, I easily made the jump... Kenichi is the same thing. If he ever get over ALL of his fears and hesitation, then holy crap all that potential will push him straight to master class (well it kinda already did in the end fight).

Agreed about the scythe. Too bad HSDK ended too early, because I wanted to see the angle of "body strength" explored more deeply. I think that some of the weapon users, especially marmaduke, should be the physically strongest masters. I wanted to see her going toe to toe in brute strength against Apachai or Akisame (the two physically strongest in Ryo), to demonstrate that a life time of weapon training can make the strongest female the equal of the strongest males who are also training with unorthodox, intense methods. I mean, she ran on water in full plate while deflecting gun fire! Seriously that is the one most impressive strength feat in the whole manga, or perhaps second most impressive.

The guidebook states that the Elder seized the land Ryouzanpaku was built on from some sinister person during that chaotic time after WWII.

To the phasing implies that Hayato might not actually have legal ownership of it.

Many, many years later, just a few months after they have returned from their fight against Yami, a letter adressed to Hayato Fuurinji arrives.

Once of the sinister person's heirs has found some old documents that state his ancestor ownes some land in Tokyo. After researcing the situation and seeing that some strange people live on "his" land, he decides to hire a lawyer and take the Elder to court.

He wins that case, because, even if his ancestor might have been some war criminal/yakuza boss/... you can't simply take his possessions, especiall if you are only a civillian yourself.

Now everyone at Ryouzanpaku has to find a new place to live or come up with another solution.

Beating the heir up is not a solution, since they are a law-abiding citizen (unlike their great-grandfather) who only want a nice place for their family (husband, wife, two small children and 3 little kittens) to live

That's a nice idea for a start of a fanfic. Where would you take it from there?

That's a nice idea for a start of a fanfic. Where would you take it from there?

I noticed this is not the fanfic idea, but the fanfic challenge thread  Can't properly read anymore.

Anyway I would have everyone move out at first since they have been evicted by the court order. I'm not sure if Akisame's and Ma's clinics are built of Ryozanpaku ground or not. If not, those two could move there and if yes, they might bargain to pay rent to the new owners or they might have to close their clinics.

In that case, Ma could move in with his uncle in Yokohama. Akisame stays with the woman he stayed with when the police was searching for them. Generella the situation looks similar now to what it was during the time when they had trouble with the police.

Just this time the Elder can't hide in a home for the elderly, because they still want him for stealing the land in the first place. So he's on the run.

And of course Miu and Kenichi can't stay there either. At first the Elder wanted to take Miu with him, but Miu and Saiga are against it, since she still has school to attaned and can't possibly run away with a wanted criminal.

Saiga can't take her either, because after he's left Yami he doesn't really have a place to stay nor does he have access to their money. Instead he comes up with the idea that he'll go and find a new home for him and Miu and in the meantime she's going to stay with Kenichi's family. (He only says so after Hayato is already out of earshot). Kenichi's parents happily agree while Honoka is not that fond of this idea.

Sakaki gets to live in some old run-down apartment he can barely afford, SHigure went back to the house she grew up in and Apachai... I don't know. Maybe he wanders the streets like a homeless kitten or he crashes at the Shinpaku headquaters.

I'm not sure where to go from there. Of course they want to live together again, but how do I get there? Does Siegfried come to their rescue and buys Ryouzanpaku or some new land for them? Does the new owner recognize that the master are actually not some brutish scary criminals that took their land and lets them live there again (for rent)? Or do they stay scattered apart?
