Syun Matsuena drew a new oneshot which is going to be published in the August issue of Gessan magazine, Shonen Sunday's monthly sister magazine.

That's cool. Not sure how he squeezed that in during his schedule, but I'm interested. Kinda sad that it wasn't the HSDK thing he mentioned a while back. What does Kichiyouji mean? Does it give any hints?

That explains why his twitter account was so silent. He was drawing a oneshot while working on his regular serialization with one volume due only 2 months after the last one,
About the title: Kichijōji is a neighbourhood in Tokyo https://en.wikipedia.../wiki/Kichijōji
Personally I'd translate it as Kichijōji Boy, but we'll see which translation fits better when the oneshot is out. If it won't be something else, because it's noted that the title is subject to change.
The small blurb says:
The No. 1 town where people want to live... But until only a few decades ago it used to be infested with demons.
A furious and (???) "boy meets adventure" story from the powerful mangaka Syun Matsuena, author of HSDK and Kimi wa 008,
I can't read the kanji for (???), because the image quality is too bad. It could be 懐かしい (nostalgic). In any case it's another adjektive.
I'm totally looking forward to seeing more of Matsuena's monster designs. Can Kanata from TK!! get a cameo, please?
https://gekkansunday.net/ says new issues always drop on the 12th of each month. Issue 06/2019 will be out in two days. That means we'll get to read this new oneshot on July 12.

I kept running into that when I looked it up. That makes more sense now.
Can't wait to see them too. What if it takes off? Would he drop KW008 for that then? I hope he wouldn't try both..

I don't think he's going to do two manga at once. He did several oneshots in the past (waza no tabibito etc). I guess it's something he likes to do once in a while. Maybe he needs some distraction from his main project.
However I hope that we'll eventually get another oneshot collection like the Kenichi Gaiden volume. I really want to read "Kishi to Tabibito", the first story of his that was officially published.
I only ready Weekly Shonen Sunday, so I don't know what Gessan is like, but they currently have three issues from last year up for free, because the magazine is celebrating its 10th anniversary. From what I've read, it seems to target the older demographics, "late teens to early twenties", which would be perfect for a Kenichi sequel, honestly. Now I really wish he'd make a HSDK sequel one-shot..
