Finally sales data for volume 2.
It sold about 13,078 copies within 3 days in week 1. That's about 1k more than volume 1. I hope the sales are the same or better for week 2. I would be great if the sales increased with each volume, since I don't want it to decline in numbers like Tokiwa did.

Volume 3 will be out November 16, and it's likely going to contain chapters 17-26.

So many translations. I only knew about the Portuguese. Spanish appears to be retranslating from Portuguese and the French group retranslates from English, so they don't count.

Kimi wa 008 chapter 27 contained another riddle that works the same as the one in chapter 22.

 

• Which animal is hiding in the middle of Australia? (1)
• Which animal becomes light when you turn it around? (5)
• Which animal hides inside the refrigerrator? (1)
• What animal do you get when you add a dot to dai? (3)
• What has 6 faces and 21 eyes? (2)

All answers have to be in English.

 

Obviously the first four can't be solved when you translate the questions into English. Here's some help with them.

1) Australia is written as "oosutoraria" in katakana. -> TORA
2) Light in Japanese is "karui". If you turn that around you get -> IRUKA
3) Refrigerator = reizouko -> ZOU
4) The kanji for dai is 大. When you add a dot you get 犬 -> INU

Now translate those animal names into English, answer the fifth question, and get all 5 letters for the answer.

 

 

Or you can do it like some guy on twitter did: He didn't even bother with the quiz and just entered a few English 5-letter-words that fit the context of this series. Didn't take him long to get the right url.

Volume 2 dropped out of the daile top 500 ranking a bit over a week ago. It lasted about a week less than volume 1 and the total sales dropped a bit as well, but it's common that the secod volume sells worse that the first one.
 
It still sold about 30,703 copies according to book-rank net. Let's hope that all future volumes don't drop below 30k.

Nakano Highs own a talking car which is named キッド (kiddo). This sounds extremely similar to キット (kitto) - the Japanese transcription of K.I.T.T. (Knight Industries Two Thousand) from the Knight Rider TV series. It looks more like the car from the 2008 reboot (Don't watch that one. It sucked). I wonder what K.I.D.D. stands for,
 
The evil organisation is called Dogra Magra. Wikipedia told me that this name was borrowed from Yumeno Kyūsaku's detective novels. Unfortunately only very few of his works were translated into English.

This chapter is easy to summarize. That evil guy is a lot stronger tha Ayame and she's in trouble. Eito breaks out of the car to help her.

There's just one thing I've been wondering about. Why don't they make those school uniforms cut proof as well when nobody except some lesser scubs actually uses guns? I know the reason is fanservice, but it appears to be a great oversight on the developrs' part when swords are so commonly used in their world.

Eito actually manages to buy them some time. He's a really quick thinker and gets things done when others depend on him.
Agent Iceman arrives just in time to block an attack that would have been fatal for his student. He gets a pretty nasty wound from this.
Now he's pissed that the bad guy dared touch his students. That's quite the change to what he said before when he told Eito that he's probably going to die, which wouldn't bother him.

Chapter 32 came out yesterday and there was riddle number 3.

Agent Iceman fights the villain. For some reason the bad guy is filming everything. Eito helps his teacher and united effort they make the villain retreat,
Much to Eito's surprise his techer does not scold him for disobeying his orders. He actually praises Eito for his quick thinking skills.
Ayame is a lot less pleased. She punches Eito right in the face, because she thought he was going to get himself killed..

• Which animal is hiding inside a hat? (2)
• When you collect 10 seashell they turn into something scary. What is it? (3)
• What do you get when you put hair into a pot? (6)
• Which country becomes an animal when you turn it around? (4)

Hints, because the riddles don't work in English:

• Athletics are sometimes called track-and-field. Track sounds like truck if you write it in katakana.
• hat = boushi. -> ushi
• sheashell = kai, 10 = juu -> kaijuu
• hair = ke, pot = potto. -> poketto (pocket)
• a-ni-ma-ru -> ru-ma-ni-a

 

Last hint: Some of the answers above are in English and some in Japanese. However, you have to translate all words into the same language to get the right letter from each word.

If someone want to make a wiki. But I'd stay far away from Wikia, now known as FANDOM, for this.  They will nuke everything with visible nipples. I tried censoring the title pages for Tokiwa Kitareri, but some were deleted even with censoring. Then they are implemeting some updates and new features that kind of suck while retiring ones that people liked. Also that website has so many ads that you cannot go there without an adblocker.

Maybe one of you guys has got an idea.

I'm looking for a way to archive the 008 bonus art, but I'm not sure what's the best way. You can pick up a printed volume any time, but the color pages, first print bonus art, and the images the author posts on twitter might not be around forever.

I'd like to sort those files into different folders/galleries: Twitter art, quiz bonus, color pages, print bonus. Would be nice if you could add a comment for the source. An option that hised NSFW for those who don't want to see it would be nice, but it's not neccessary.

 

Files on file hosters life mediafire tend to expire.

Many image hosts (flickr, imgur) won't be okay with the nsfw-ist art in 008

Facebook gets an aneurysm when they see a single nipple and the resize/compress images.

Wikia doesn't resize, but they hate nsfw as well.

G+ is going to be dead soon.
