HSDK Battle 580 Released

This chapter was awesome!!! Kudos Ken-chan!!!

Invoking, releasing and holding ki huh, then Takeda Rimi Odin are at releasing while Beserk and Lugh are at invoking. Makes you wonder where Kajima is.

It was a decent chapter but I thought that Saiga and Senzui were gonna go for the kill and why is Shigure losing focus so much!?? Isn't that unprofessional for a master to just ignore her opponent and worry about Kenichi?

@Ogata Shigure's fighting fodder that disciples can beat no problem, about Saiga/Senzui tho you have a point that final clash is taking awefully long.

Ki holding seems to be manipulating all Ki, which is probably why no-one uses this move.(this is counter that I spoke of that only masters can do). So is Kenichi stronger than Miu now? Probably, if he's serous theirs no way she can over come his Ki and immense endurance. It also seems that Kenichi is a Saiyan. The tougher and more dire the situation is, the stronger he gets.

He is not a thief! He made this thread 71 minutes before you did! What happened is, Raigo wrote 579 instead of 580 and then a mode edited his headline after you made your thread!

Eitherway, I like both you and Raigo as well as everyone else in this forum so no need to create friction among each other!

 

Kenichi is reaching a new level of badassery.

I think this is showing what some of his characteristics will be when he eventually becomes a master-class. He'll be invulnerable from his endurance, and his fighting style will be to immobilize his opponents while avoiding casing them serious damage.

What was with this chapter...it was like a Reverse HSDK where the only thing not covered WAS the nipples.  

I do like how Kenichi finished this one, by taking on his enemy's attack to help save his life.  

For a moment, I thought that Kenichi was going to lose his fight (last week) and then Miu would step up dishonorably...

but she closed her eyes.  I'm starting to think she's too much of a princess to ever switch... 

I just don't see how the story continues.  I can for the other characters, but Kenichi's future foils aren't..."primary" enough anymore.

It seems that Kenichi managed to 'fix' Kajima's Ki flow again through his technique. I wonder what'll happen with the hole in his body, I'm guessing it'll be patched up by one of the masters.

Even though he's not a genius, Kenichi managed to skip a grade, maybe several.

The strength of Kenichi is, he always finds a solution at the critical moment, in this case by mastering a technique no one thought he'd already have the skill for. My theory is, Kenichi's gentle nature makes it hard for him to master really advanced techniques through training and sparring.

Even though he practiced and came up with a new technique this time, he makes the most amazing progress when in actual combat in a critical situation.

What is also cool is that it's suggested that Kenichi gets strength from his 'friends'.

Also healing somebody with ki sounds like wuxia novels when they heal somebody with inner strength. Although I doubt Kenichi will take it to wuxia levels where you can heal venom with ki, change your weight, heat up food with ki, hold your breath for hours with ki etc.

Yeah, I think he has a gouge of some sorts, but it seems like Kenichi managed to pour the flow of the attack through his body and into the wall.  Cool chapter.  Even when the villain had Kenichi dead to rights, he didn't give him a chance by monologuing.  He dove for the kill, but Kenichi was too strong.

Seriously though, I don't like this Miu...closing her eyes...yuck...

Although it could just be a darker spot from an impression, or just a way to show where the attack landed. But my first thought was that Kajima literally punched a hole below his chest.

I guess he doesn't have a hole after all, since you can't see any damage in that place on page 16.

I think Miu is too wounded up in the teaching of her grandfather and his laise faire attitude that her emotional maturity is stunted.

Seriously, closing her eyes when her lover is about to die instead of diving in to break up the fight... Let's not pretend they don't already think of each other as such, that scene where they stood back to back with the genetic helix in the middle literally was metaphor for a husband and wife fighting partnership...

This probably came from the many many times that the Elder just stood and watch while Miu struggled with a dangerous situation, like when she was outclassed by Sho Kanou.

So in a way, to a lesser degree, Miu has been raised to become a Kuremisago, with a simplistic understanding of life and a uncaring attitude toward death... I would be quite sad if I was Ken here.

I don't think Ken has a hole there, but the black hole in the middle of his body probably represents some serious internal injury from transfering that much force through his body. His organs are all bruised or slightly ruptured now. He just doesn't feel it yet.

I wouldn't really count any timeskips for HSDK.  Is the one you refer to where they come back and its another year of school?  Kenichi has been pretty busy, so these events come naturally instead of being jumped towards.  There have been times where Kenichi leaves to train for a week or so on something, but usually these events are integrated with the story, and so time does not "skip".

What I meant is he manipulated his Ki and restored it by going with his flow.

Thats true. Small time skips do happen once a arc ends, but then again I don't see Kenichi do excessive amounts of kata or muscle training or any training now do we.

Ken chan has gotten true laser eyes... He has entered the world of masters, at last. His ki-flow stopping attack is also similar to how Tanaka saves Ryuto from Seidou Goui.

I also think that Kajima is at ki-holding but by using Shinogidachi. He obviously deals out the kind of damage that no disciple, no matter what kind of state they are in, can do. He dealt out more damage than Pengulu and Expert-class Tanaka could do, and in fact a little more than Master-class Tanaka too, before he got serious.

I thought he was using those seals of his the whole way through.Also as I mentioned before since his strength crosses that of a master(due to said seals) and his immense ki, he seemed like more that just a disciple. The fact he can do shinodaichi means he at the level of masters in terms of ki, but only just(due to a lack in anything else).

Yeah it was a good chapter and Kenichi did pull off a badass counter to Kajima's attack, not to mention a finishing move  worthy of any katsujinken master, but we all already knew that Kenichi was the man. Can anyone here honestly say they expected any less from the star of HSDK?

Certain things like intimidation and shockwave orbit (potential attack path) reading works the same I think.

About the muscle / blood flow / nerve control... well that gets a bit more complicated when there's some extra steel involved.

I think the only true usage of ki in a weapon fight is any form of Shintou Kourenzan, as in the user has achieved such a natural instinctive feel for the trajectory and balance point of weapons that she can move it as if it is connected to her by nerves and muscles, achieving unparalleled precision and agility without any loss in power.

It would be really absurd, even by hsdk standards, to think that one can use ki to... make metal harder than they actually are.

Weapons on their own are basically very long limb that are already as hard as muscles could ever be. In HSDK you can get your muscles and bones far pass the density of regular tool steel, but there are smiths who could produce steel even better than that.

One would think your Ki also doesnt have to be incredibly large. The fact that you have a weapon causes your Ki to increase. In terms of good steel weapons one would think they would use high strength low allow steels. Most likely the blade of the weapon would be much harder then the inside of the weapon. Also it would weight less than your standard steel with the same strength, which would help in speed, however I think they would prefer the weight and strength. We should figure out how Shigure's sword is designed. 

Edit: By incredibly large, dont think I said Shigure's or any of the executioner blades have weak ki's on any level.

@citizen_lion I've been rereading some chapters and I noticed on the bottom left corner of this page readms.com/r/hsdk/568/2367/11 Sai's hoe seems to be covered in ki, or could it be just a stylistic thing?
